"What a wonderful day! We booked four tandems as part of Mum and Dad's 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. My two brothers and their girlfriends, my husband, baby, Mum, Dad and I all rode (wobbly at first, quickly confident!) on four of Jane's wonderful bicycles-for-two from Saltford Marina to Bradford on Avon, via Sustrans routes and the extraordinary two-tunnels route, recommended by Jane. Bristol Tandem Hire is a very flexible and efficient company and we had a very special and often hilarious experience. Mum hasn't ridden a bike in years and she loved it! We were visiting Bath/ Bristol and intended cycling around the city but on separate machines. We were delighted when we heard that you could hire Tandems to see the sights. The route Jane provided was superb and we had a great time exploring. The bikes certainly turned a few heads and we had many positive comments from people. "Did we think we would be adventurous enough to embark with our ten year old son on an all afternoon bike ride going around the harbour, up through magical (but steep!) Paradise Bottom in Leigh Wood and back along scenic Clifton village? Having Jane's tandem made it possible. We all loved it and not only our son did not moan once about being tired but he really enjoyed it. Being at the back of a tandem also means you can really enjoy the scenery. "As someone who has been diagnosed recently with Parkinson's Disease and also having had Rheumatoid Arthritis for more than a decade, I find the most difficult thing to cope with is not being able to access our beautiful countryside as I used to. That is until I discovered Bristol Tandem Hire in Bristol ! The highlight of this past year was a fantastic ride (the Two Tunnels route) on one of Jane's tandems, expertly steered by my brother.
We went uphill and down dale, pedalling through some of the most beautiful countryside in the south west and following the canal at times. We arrived back at base with rosy cheeks and a hearty appetite but most of all feeling euphoric that I was able to be at close quarters with nature once more. I can't wait to do it again. "
